Play video games ? Like to make them for a living?
This innovative and exciting three-year programme is designed to equip you with the skills you’ll need to pursue a career in the games development industry. You’ll cover programming, narrative writing, 2D and 3D animation; UI design and much more.
- Use industry-standard hardware and software and emerge with a portfolio of work to showcase to future employers.
- Study in our bespoke Halston street studio – designed to capture the feel of a professional games development and animation studio.
- Taught by working industry professionals – lecturers employed by Pulse College have worked on games like Red Dead Redemption II, Hitman II, Borderlands, and Star Trek: Fleet Command.
Our graduates have found work for Irish game and animation studios like Brown Bag Films, Boulder Media, Black Shamrock, Jam Media, Frantic Fun Games, Dimension 88 and Studio Meala, and have worked on popular television series like Disney+’s The Book of Boba Fett.

Course Director: Michael Joyce
Michael Joyce is an award-winning game designer and creative developer with extensive experience in game design, digital art, and interactive media. Currently serving as the Programme Director for the Games Department at Pulse College, Michael combines his deep industry knowledge with a passion for mentorship, guiding the next generation of game developers to excel in an ever-evolving field.
Michael holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Design from Atlantic Technological University, a Higher Postgraduate Degree in Interactive Digital Media from Trinity College Dublin, and a Master’s Degree in Digital Arts from the University of Galway. His academic journey encompasses game design, animation, storytelling, character design, user experience, and human-computer interaction, providing a multidisciplinary approach to creative development.
With a career driven by creativity, innovation, and leadership, Michael Joyce continues to shape the future of the gaming industry, inspiring others to push the boundaries of art and technology.
