Dingle beach - animation festival

Animation Dingle – A Worldview of Animation

With recent reports that the Irish screen industry has doubled in value over the last decade, this is in large part due to the animation sector in Ireland. So naturally as the industry is gaining momentum, a number of events have popped up to celebrate Animation and all the creativity and energy that goes with it. Animation Dingle is a great example of one of the best of these kinds of events – it’s made up of conferences, screenings and workshops to give practical support and assistance to those involved in animation and to showcase the talent that we have here in Ireland.

Animation Dingle – Who, What, Where

Animation Dingle is an event organized by Jam Media, a joint UK-Ireland creator and producer of many award-winning animated and live-action projects. Jam Media have maintained multiple long-standing relationships with many different digital platform providers, broadcasters and licensing and merchandising partners globally. Jam Media are not only putting this animation festival on for the 8th year in a row, they currently have multiple children`s animated programs in the works, so they will always have an on-the-ground troupe of talent to engage with the festival – old and young.

The festival is geared towards showing the best animation that Ireland has to offer, with many different screenings available throughout the event. In addition, there will be a number of talks and workshops to help students understand the entire process of producing animated content; from funding applications, to getting work in front of audiences. The highlight of the event is the 2020 Animation Awards, which recognize achievements in animation by animators of all ages.

The event will be held in the Dingle Skellig Hotel over two days – the 20th and 21st of March. The festival will be a great opportunity to really learn about Animation and to embrace all the creativity and talent that we have here – and to do this all with the gorgeous backdrop of Dingle, Co. Kerry.
