Day 1

• Introduction to Visual Storytelling & Pre-Production
• Convey emotions, ideas and narrative through visual storytelling.
• Turn ideas / concepts into productions.
• Pre-Production, including budgets, schedules, call sheets and permits.
• Communicating your creative ideas and how to work with actors / cast.

Day 2

• Introduction to Cinematography & Lighting
• Camera operation, lighting techniques and audio recording.
• Safe handling of equipment.
• Hands-on introduction to camera, lenses, tripods, monitors, microphones and various film lighting equipment.

Day 3

• Production
• Enhance your visual communication skills through the creation of a Commercial, using a combination of production techniques.
• Students will learn the importance of collaboration between different departments (Direction, Cinematography, Production Design, etc) and learn to work effectively as part of a team.

Day 4

• Introduction to Post Production
• Explore the various editing tools and features of Davinci Resolve, including the timeline, clip selection, trimming tools and basic image manipulation.
• Learn how to import and organise media, and assemble a rough cut.

Day 5

• Post Production and Screening
• Develop your rough cut edit and take this through the various cut stages to final / lock off stage.
• The day will finish with a screening of the students’ work.
